Nice restaurant, although a bit too animated for a highly-classy place. But you know how it is…if you go in and you find it empty, you think that something is wrong, since it’s empty. If it’s successful and full…it’s not good also, since there?s no privacy.

I was lucky, not having a reservation, since I’m a non-smoker and I found a place in one of the rooms closer to the entrance (I suspect them not having been among the classiest). Anyway they look really nice, nothing to criticize from this point of view. The waiter moved very nice and natural. It took some time for the food to arrive, but taking into account the hustle…I think they had an honorable time. The bad thing was that they brought both the dish of fried, breaded Camembert with onion jam and the Mazagran zinger at the same time…A detail that was pretty disturbing, but not something that can?t be overlooked. The Camembert was delicious, the onion jam fitting excellently the breaded cheese. The hit below the belt came from where I least expected, meaning from the zinger, the ?house?s specialty? called Mazagran. It seems that zinger is a type of fish that is not at all good for me, probably due to karma. I didn?t find bones like in the one at Angelique, and I don?t think there is another zinger with more bones than that one (I suspect him of being some kind of mutant), however, it had almost no taste. O.K., you will say the zinger is already a pretty tasteless fish and I couldn’t do anything but to agree. But the sauce was pretty similar, being so little that it was impossible for me to realize what it, the sauce, intended to be in life. The vegetables also were boiled a bit too much, the broccoli resembled mashed potatoes. I fixed it with some salt and pepper, but it didn?t leave a good taste at all. For dessert I ordered Mazagran again, this time a cake. I wasn?t lucky this time either, the slice being very rich in dough and some cream, quite dry both of them. But this may also depend on preferences, those who like sponge cake may find an aphrodisiac pleasure in the Mazagran cake.
The prices are not for retired people, but not for the luxury category either, I think their major problem is still the cook…
Rar mi-a fost dat sa intalnesc o persoana atat de agresiva gratuit. Am merg la Mazagran pentru a incerca sa inchiriez localul pentru o seara si sefa nici macar n-a vrut sa ma asculte, zicand un nu taios. Exact genul de comportament care alunga clienti. Chiar daca politica localului este de a nu inchide pentru petreceri private, acest lucru se poate spune si pe un ton frumos. Practic nu trebuie sa transformi un client cariua ii place atat de mult locul incat vrea sa organizeze o seara speciala acolo, intr-o persoana care nu va mai pune piciorul niciodata acolo. Pacat de locul frumos…
